We took all the flavours we loved from a classic tuna mornay pasta bake and turned it into an easy cold salad. - Australia's Best Recipes Team

Ingredients

  • 400g spiral pasta
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 425g tin tuna in oil
  • 1 tbs chives, chopped
  • 2 shallots, chopped
  • 1/2 iceberg lettuce, roughly chopped

Dressing

  • 30g sachet tuna mornay mix
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbs lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Method

  • Step 1
    Cook pasta according to packet instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool. Cook peas in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and refresh in cold water.

  • Step 2
    To make the dressing, whisk together ingredients in a small bowl. Season well.
  • Step 3
    Place pasta and peas in a large bowl and add dressing. Stir to combine. Drain tuna and add to bowl with chives, shallots and lettuce. Carefully toss to combine and coat ingredients in the dressing. Serve.
Recipe Notes

Cook peas in the microwave if you prefer. Be sure to refresh them in cold water once cooked so they keep their vibrant green colour.
