A main course slice with mince on the bottom and a creamy top.
Ingredients
- 500 g beef steak, minced
- 30 g butter
- 1 onion finely chopped medium
- 1 granny smith apple grated medium peeled
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce
- 3 eggs lightly beaten
- 440 g canned creamed corn
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/2 cup cheese grated
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
Method

Step 1Heat butter and cook onion until soft.

Step 2Add mince, fry until brown. Drain on absorbent paper and combine with apple, breadcrumbs and tomato sauce.

Step 3Press firmly into a greased and paper lined 23 cm square dish.

Step 4Combine eggs with corn and cream and pour over mince, sprinkle with cheese.

Step 5Bake at 180C for 1 hour or until golden brown and set. Stand for a few minutes before slicing.

Step 6Serve with vegetables or salad.
Recipe Notes
Keep an eye on the dish in the oven as oven times may vary. I use regular cream for this dish.
