Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumstick
  • 30 g butter
  • 1 tbs oil
  • 3 bacon rashers diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 400 g canned whole tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 cups chicken stock (liquid)

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown chicken in butter and oil. Remove and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Drain off excess oil from pan.
  • Step 3
    Cook bacon, onion and garlic.
  • Step 4
    Add tomatoes, peas, rice, chilli, turmeric, paprika and stock.
  • Step 5
    Return chicken to pan and simmer until rice is cooked.
Recipe Notes

Chicken thigh can be used.
