This sauce has a combination of beef and vegetables which makes it a more rounded meal when served with pasta and garlic bread. Oh, and it tastes great!

Ingredients

  • 400 g beef mince
  • 1 brown onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 zucchini grated
  • 2 carrot grated
  • 100 g mushrooms diced
  • 425 g canned crushed tomatoes
  • 425 g can condensed tomato soup
  • 2 tbs tomato paste
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 cup beef stock (liquid)
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper *to taste

Method

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a large pan. Fry onions and garlic until soft. Add mince and cook until all the meat is brown.
  • Step 2
    Add carrot, zucchini and mushrooms and cook for a minute or two.
  • Step 3
    Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for an hour. If the sauce is getting too thick add extra water as needed.
  • Step 4
    Serve over cooked spaghetti or use as the meat sauce for lasagna.
