Ingredients

  • 1 tbs oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 zucchini grated small
  • 1 carrot grated small
  • 350 g beef mince
  • 550 g pasta sauce
  • 375 g spaghetti
  • 2 cups bechamel sauce
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese grated

Method

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a large frying pan and saute onion, zucchini and carrot until onion is soft.
  • Step 2
    Add mince and cook until browned.
  • Step 3
    Add pasta sauce and simmer for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    While the sauce is cooking, boil the spaghetti.

  • Step 5
    Combine the spaghetti and sauce and place in a casserole dish.
  • Step 6
    Pour over the bechamel sauce, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake for about 30 minutes, until browned on top.
Recipe Notes

I use a tomato sauce that has extra added herbs in it. Bechamel sauce seems to be readily available at the supermarket these days but I prefer to make my own, if time permits.
