Set and forget! Pop the potatoes in to cook slowly in milk, then mash till they’re creamy and serve!
Ingredients
- 1.5kg potatoes
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 2 cups (500ml) milk
- 100g butter
Method
-
Step 1Peel potatoes and cut into large, even chunks. Place in the bowl of a slow cooker with the garlic cloves, and pour over milk. Dot the top with butter. Season well with salt. Cook on high for 3 hours until potatoes are tender.
-
Step 2Mash potatoes in the hot milk until smooth and creamy. Add extra butter and/or milk if required. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed.
Recipe Notes
Brushed potatoes are the best all-rounder for mashing.
These would be delicious with cheese, chives or shallots stirred through at the end.
