Ingredients

  • 2 ham hock fresh
  • 500ml vegetable stock
  • 1 celery stick roughly chopped
  • 1 carrot cut into pieces large peeled
  • 1 onion diced large
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 slices orange rind
  • 1 red chilli chopped
  • 4 (pods) cardamom
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger finely chopped
  • 2 garlic clove finely chopped

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown hocks in olive oil over high heat.
  • Step 2
    Remove hocks, add onion and fry until soft.
  • Step 3
    Add to slow cooker with all remaining ingredients.

    Cook on high for approximately 5 hours.
Recipe Notes

I have added sage and parmesan dumplings to the slow cooker around 25 minutes before cooking time ended. I then removed the dumplings, sprinkled with more parmesan and placed under grill until a little crunchy on top.
