Ingredients

  • 125 g margarine
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 1/2 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tbs salt
  • 4 cups plain flour

Coating

  • 1 tbs sesame seeds
  • 1 egg white

Method

  • Step 1
    Beat the margarine until soft.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, mix the oil, yoghurt, eggs,vinegar and salt. Add to margarine.
  • Step 3
    Add baking powder and slowly add flour, kneading mixture by hand.
  • Step 4
    Rest the mixture for 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Add the sesame seeds to a nonstick frying pan and roast by stirring over medium heat until they change colour.
  • Step 6
    Roll dough into thin 10 cm long sticks, brush with egg white and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Step 7
    Place in a baking tray and bake at 180C until cooked.
