Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 395 g condensed milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 110 g butter chopped

Method

  • Step 1
    Warm milk on low heat in a large electric frying pan.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar gradually to the milk, stirring constantly until dissolved.
  • Step 3
    Add butter and allow to melt.
  • Step 4
    Add condensed milk.

  • Step 5
    Bring to the boil, stirring constantly for 20 minutes until a small soft ball forms when a bit of the mixture is dropped in cold water.
  • Step 6
    Remove from heat and beat until thick and creamy.
  • Step 7
    Pour into lined tray and cool on the bench. Remove from tray and cut into squares.
