After years of making different variations of this recipe, I've finally found this recipe to be the most satisfying and everyone loves it. - Salben65

Ingredients

  • 500 g pork mince
  • 2 capsicums red green
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 tomatoes diced large
  • 500 ml passata
  • 1 sprinkle Italian dried herbs
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 sprinkle cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 700 g San Remo pasta

Method

  • Step 1
    Brown mince in 1 tbs olive oil, then remove from pan.
  • Step 2
    Sauté onion and garlic in 1 tbs olive oil, then add diced capsicums and sauté, then add diced tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add mince back into the pan and stir into mixture.
  • Step 4
    Add passata and red wine along with black pepper and Italian herbs. Stir to combine, then sprinkle with cayenne pepper.
  • Step 5
    Slowly cook for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 6
    Serve with pasta.

Recipe Notes
You can sprinkle with grated cheese after serving if you like cheese.
