Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentil flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 cm ginger minced
  • 1 red onion finely chopped
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

Minted yoghurt

  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 cup mint chopped

Method

  • Step 1
    Mix the minted yoghurt ingredients together and refrigerate.
  • Step 2
    Sift the lentil flour and baking powder into bowl. Add all spices, garlic, ginger, pepper and salt. Add 150 ml cold water to make batter then add onion and stir.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil in frypan and add a heaped tablespoon of mixture a few at a time. Shallow fry til golden brown on outside. Drain on paper towel and serve with the minted yoghurt.
