This is such an awesome sauce – and it only takes 5 ingredients and 10 minutes to make! Stir it through stir-fries and noodles, serve it with skewers, drizzle it over a steak, or even toss it through a salad. I’m a huge fan of satay sauce, and I know you will be, too!

How to make a quick satay sauce: key tips

This recipe is as simple as placing all of the ingredients into a saucepan and then stirring them until heated through. That’s it. You’ll have around 1 cup of sauce.

Key ingredients in this quick satay sauce recipe

Peanut butter is the obvious star of this vegetarian sauce. This recipe uses crunchy peanut butter, but you can always opt for smooth, if that is what you would prefer.

The coconut milk lends a “Thai vibe” to this sauce and provides a little sweetness, too. The sweet chilli sauce also adds sweetness to this sauce – you can adjust how much of it you use, depending on how much heat and sweetness you desire.

Recipe Notes

How do I store and use satay sauce?

You can make this sauce ahead of time and store it in a glass jar in the fridge for up to a week. Gently reheat it in the microwave, if you’ll be using it as a dipping sauce or to drizzle, so that it becomes runnier. You can place the cold sauce straight into the pan when cooking stir-fries or hot noodle dishes.
