Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes chopped
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 4 bacon rashers sliced
  • 10 beef sausages thin
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbs tomato sauce
  • 3 tbs barbecue sauce
  • 35 g French onion soup mix
  • 1 tbs plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cheese grated
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Method

  • Step 1
    Boil potatoes in a saucepan until tender. Mash potatoes to desired taste.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 200C.
  • Step 3
    Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry onion and bacon.

  • Step 4
    When onion is tender add the sausages and cook until browned.
  • Step 5
    Once browned, remove pan from heat and cut the sausages into thick pieces.
  • Step 6
    Mix together sauces, soup mix, flour and 1½ cups water.
  • Step 7
    Return pan to the heat, add sauce to the sausages, mix and bring to the boil.
  • Step 8
    Place mixture into a medium-sized casserole dish, top with mashed potato and grated cheese.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 30 minutes.
