A low cost, but very tasty winter delight.
Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes chopped
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 4 bacon rashers sliced
- 10 beef sausages thin
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbs tomato sauce
- 3 tbs barbecue sauce
- 35 g French onion soup mix
- 1 tbs plain flour
- 1/2 cup cheese grated
- 1 1/2 cups water
Method

Step 1Boil potatoes in a saucepan until tender. Mash potatoes to desired taste.

Step 2Preheat oven to 200C.

Step 3Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry onion and bacon.

Step 4When onion is tender add the sausages and cook until browned.

Step 5Once browned, remove pan from heat and cut the sausages into thick pieces.

Step 6Mix together sauces, soup mix, flour and 1½ cups water.

Step 7Return pan to the heat, add sauce to the sausages, mix and bring to the boil.

Step 8Place mixture into a medium-sized casserole dish, top with mashed potato and grated cheese.

Step 9Bake for 30 minutes.
