Great party starters and a good way to fill up hungry teenagers.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf bread sliced
- 1 cup mashed potato
- 1 cup cheese grated
- 1 egg
- 2 tbs onion finely chopped
- 2 bacon rashers chopped
- 1 pinch paprika
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 190C.

Step 2Butter the bread lightly, but evenly, and cut off the crusts.

Step 3Press the squares into patty pans buttered side down.

Step 4Mix the mashed potato with cheese, egg, onion and bacon.

Step 5Put the potato mixture into the bread cases and sprinkle with paprika.

Step 6Bake for 20-30 minutes, until bread is light brown.
Recipe Notes
I often triple this recipe and freeze, then my kids just heat them up when they want.
