A hearty, tasty and easy dish.
Ingredients
- 5 potato large thickly sliced
- 1 onion sliced
- 200 g mushrooms sliced
- 2 tomato large sliced
- 600 g extra lean beef mince
- 1 cup cheese sauce
- 400 g canned diced tomatoes with oregano and basil
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C.

Step 2Grease a deep 3 L casserole dish and lid.

Step 3Beginning with potatoes, layer each ingredient in dish, repeating layers and finishing with potatoes on top.

Step 4Cover casserole with lid and bake for 1 hour. Remove lid and bake a further 30 minutes uncovered.

Step 5Sprinkle with extra cheese and cook until browned and melted, approximately 15 minutes.
Recipe Notes
I use my V slicer for slicing the vegetables which keeps them all the same size.
I have used a 41 g packet cheese sauce but if you prefer you can make your own.
I put all raw ingredients in the casserole but you can make it by browning the mince and onions and par cooking the potatoes if you want to. Just reduce the cooking time if you do.
This is a hearty dish and is lovely served with a crisp salad and crusty buttered bread slices.
