Layers of whipped cream, crushed pineapple and Ginger Nut biscuits. Easy and delicious - great for a dinner party or as a substitute for trifle at Christmas time.
Ingredients
- 600 ml cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp caster sugar
- 500 g ginger biscuit
- 825 g (crushed) canned pineapple drained
- 1 tbs cinnamon sugar
Method

Step 1Whip cream with vanilla and caster sugar. Place a thin layer of whipped cream in a glass or plastic dessert bowl.

Step 2Follow with a layer of Ginger Nut biscuits, and then crushed pineapple.

Step 3Continue with layers in the same order until ingredients are used up.

Step 4Finish with a layer of whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Step 5Refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.
Recipe Notes
You can make this dessert as little or as big as you like. Homebrand Ginger Nuts are fine and if you don't like the ginger taste, Butternut Snaps work well also. I have also substituted crushed pineapple for "Crushed Tropical Fruit Salad" which is also delicious. This has replaced our traditional trifle at Christmas time! I used ginger nut biscuits.
