A pasta salad with a difference - this one has a cooked sauce. This is a great favourite in our house.
Ingredients
- 3 cups pasta
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 garlic cloves chopped
- 1 carrot grated
- 4 tbs tomato paste
- 1 tsp English mustard
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp basil
- 1/4 tsp celery salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 1 tbs olive oil
Method

Step 1Cook pasta according to packet directions.

Step 2Drain and rinse under cold water. Set aside.

Step 3Saute onion, garlic and carrot in olive oil for 2 minutes.

Step 4Add tomato paste, mustard, sauces, herbs, sugar, salt and pepper. Stir until combined.

Step 5Add water and stir well.

Step 6Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Step 7Mix sauce and pasta together.
Recipe Notes
I use small shell pasta which I find works best but any small shapes would do.
