Give in to your Nutella cravings with this rich, dense heart cake that will make everyone want to lick the cake bowl!
Ingredients
- 250g butter, softened
- 200g white sugar
- 200g Nutella spread
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 medium eggs
- 1/2 cup plain yoghurt
- 100g plain flour
- 150g self-raising flour
Nutella butter icing
- 250g butter (soft)
- 1 cup Nutella (around 280g or just over half a 400g jar)
- 4 cups (approximately) icing mixture
- A dash of milk to mix

Step 1Preheat the oven to 170 C.

Step 2Using a wooden spoon, cream together the butter and white sugar until creamy. Add the Nutella and cocoa, and mix until combined.

Step 3Add the eggs, one at a time, and then mix the yoghurt in gently. Add the plain flour and self-raising flour, mixing until combined.

Step 4Grease and line a heart shaped pan (or around 20cm round cake tin). Pour the mixture into the pan and smooth the top. Bake for around 45 minutes or until cooked. Allow to cool.

Step 5To prepare the Nutella butter icing, beat the butter, Nutella and icing mixture together until smooth. Add a few tablespoons of milk (as necessary) to obtain the desired consistency. Spread the icing over the cake.
Recipe Notes
This is quite a dense cake so it may take longer than 45 minutes.
