Simmer apples until their soft to make this no-bake apple cake. No oven needed!
Ingredients
- 2kg apples (any) peel and cut into small pieces
- 5 tbsp caster sugar, or more to taste
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 100g vanilla custard powder
- 1 pkt of Savoiardi biscuits (400g)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, or more to taste
Method

Step 1Place the apples into a saucepan.

Step 2Add 250 ml cold water, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon. Stir and bring to boil.

Step 3Cook until the apples are very soft. You can mash them a little bit.

Step 4Mix the vanilla custard with 400 ml water and pour in apple mixture.

Step 5Keep stirring and cook further 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 6Lay a sheet of baking paper on the bottom and sides of a spring form tin.

Step 7Place the biscuits on the bottom and spread with apple mixture, then layer biscuits again, followed by apple mixture.

Step 8Smooth the top.

Step 9Refrigerate overnight, then slice and serve.
