Ingredients

  • 2 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 4 tbs custard powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 egg
  • 250 g butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 180C degrees. Grease a deep 25cm round cake pan.
  • Step 2
    Sift flour, sugar and custard powder into large bowl of electric mixer.
  • Step 3
    Add eggs, milk, softened butter and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or until cake is cooked.

  • 1 25cm round cake pan
  • electric mixer
Recipe Notes
You can eat this cake without icing but I usually ice it with lemon or orange icing. It never lasts long in my house!
