A cross between a ‘moo’ and an ‘oink’, these juicy flavour-packed balls of goodness get their name from the combo of beef mince and bacon. - Greer Worsley

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 35g pkt French onion soup mix
  • 3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 40g tasty cheese, 1cm cubes
  • 8 rashers streaky bacon
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Method

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C conventional. Line an oven tray with baking paper.
  • Step 2
In a bowl, combine mince, soup mix, bread crumbs, egg, garlic and barbecue sauce. Season well with cracked black pepper. Form into 16 small balls.
  • Step 3
Press a cheese cube into the centre of each ball. Press the mince to enclose the cheese and reshape into a ball.
  • Step 4
Cut each rasher in half widthwise, then cut each width in half lengthwise so you have 32 long, narrow strips. Wrap two strips in a cross pattern around each mince ball.
  • Step 5
Brush a barbecue plate or fry pan with olive oil. Brown MOINK balls well on all sides. Transfer to prepared oven tray and bake for 10 minutes until cooked through.
