Whip up these cute individual trifles for Christmas Day with a hint of butterscotch schnapps and creamy thick custard. - Sunbeam Foods

Ingredients

Trifles

  • 1 1/2 cup fruit mince *see notes
  • 1 sponge cake *see notes
  • 6 tsp butterscotch schnapps
  • 2 packet jelly crystals raspberry *made up according to packet
  • 400 ml custard thick
  • 300 ml thickened cream whipped
  • 1/4 cup Sunbeam flaked almonds toasted

Method

  • Step 1
    Spread fruit mince on one half of the sponge cake and top with remaining sponge. Cut circles of sponge cake to fit into the bottom of the glasses. Pour 1 teaspoon of schnapps over each sponge.
  • Step 2
    Spoon almost set jelly on top of each sponge and top with a layer of custard and then cream. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Decorate with flaked almonds.

  • 6 200ml glass jar with metal lid

This recipe uses 1 1/2 cups of Sticky Orange and Fig fruit mince:

We also recommend using a 22cm round pre-prepared sponge cake.
