A staple recipe in our home and loved by all. A wonderful combination of the sweet and the sour really complement this dish. I discovered this recipe in a book about 10 years ago and have never tasted better. - AngelaK

Ingredients

  • 16 chicken wing cleaned fat trimmed
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbs honey
  • 2 garlic clove crushed
  • 1/4 cup sweet chilli sauce
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint lightly packed roughly chopped

Method

  • Step 1
Mix together the soy, honey, garlic, sweet chill sauce, lemon juice and mint by either using a blender to blend or a hand held shaker.
  • Step 2
Place chicken in a dish and pour over the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Step 3
Place the wings and excess marinade in a baking dish and bake, uncovered, at 180C (fan forced) for 50 minutes or until wings are cooked through and caramelised, turning the wings once or twice during cooking.
  • Step 4
    Serve with boiled rice.
Recipe Notes
Because of the rich flavours in the chicken and the sauce we choose to serve this dish with boiled rice. At the completion of cooking there is enough of the marinade to pour over the rice to make it a complete meal.
