Bone broth is easy to make and highly nutritious. Make a batch of bone broth over the weekend and you'll have enough to add to soups, stews and casseroles.
Ingredients
- 1kg beef bones
- 2 onions
- 2 raw chicken feet
- 4 raw chicken necks
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbs peppercorns
- 1 tbs apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp turmeric
Method

Step 1Add all ingredients to a pot. Fill the pot with enough water, covering the ingredients by 5cm.

Step 2Boil the ingredients for 10 minutes.

Step 3Turn down to low and simmer for 12 hours. Add more water as the liquid evaporates.

Step 4Drain the liquid into prepared jars and store in the refrigerator.
Recipe Notes
Add vegetable leftovers such as onion peels, wilted celery and the ends of carrots.
