Lovely vanilla fudge. My grandmother sent us some of this with the recipe from the UK one Christmas. It has become traditional for me to make it every Christmas.
Ingredients
- 2 tbs golden syrup
- 3 tbs water
- 85g butter
- 450g caster sugar
- 395g condensed milk
- 3 drops vanilla essence
Method

Step 1Place syrup, water, butter, essence and sugar in a saucepan, heat slowly until sugar has dissolved.

Step 2Add condensed milk, continue boiling slowly for 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown and at soft ball stage. Be careful it does not burn on the bottom of the saucepan.

Step 3Remove from heat and beat until thick and shiny.

Step 4Pour into greased dish and set in fridge.
