Lamb meatballs served in a thick tomato and herb sauce on top of spaghetti.
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 500 g lamb mince
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic crushed
- 1 oil spray
- 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
Tomato sauce
- 375 g tomato puree
- 2 tbs tomato paste
- 1 tsp garlic crushed
- 1 bunch oregano fresh small
- 1 bunch thyme fresh small
- 1 onion finely diced
- 1/2 tsp olive oil
- 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
Method

Step 1Mix meatball ingredients together. Roll meatballs into walnut-size balls.

Step 2Spray pan with oil and fry meatballs on high heat until browned. Remove from pan.

Step 3Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until onion is see-through, then add remaining sauce ingredients.

Step 4Place meatballs back into pan with sauce and simmer for ten minutes, whilst cooking the spaghetti.
Recipe Notes
This recipe is also nice with some red wine in the sauce, chilli or fresh basil if you have it.
Serve with crusty garlic bread and garden salad.
