Ingredients

  • 30 g butter
  • 2 tbs plain flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 2 chicken stock cube crumbled
  • 425 g canned tuna
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 4 potato medium
  • 1 tbs milk
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 onion grated optional small

Method

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Step 2
    Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until sauce boils and thickens.
  • Step 3
    Add stock cubes, tuna, lemon juice and pepper. Set aside.
  • Step 4
    Boil and mash potato with extra milk and butter, season.
  • Step 5
    Spoon mash into casserole dish, then spoon mornay mix on top and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 180C for 25 minutes.

Recipe Notes

1 cup cooked peas or corn can be added to this.
