This recipe gives you enough seasoning to coat about 8 chicken drumsticks. It tastes 'familiar', hence the familiar-sounding name!
Ingredients
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika mild
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp dried parsley ground
- 1 1/2 tsp dried parsley chopped
- 1 canola oil spray
Method

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 220C.

Step 2Slash chicken skin and coat in egg.

Step 3Combine flour with all spices.

Step 4Roll the chicken in the flour and spice mix.

Step 5Place on a lightly sprayed oven tray and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 6Turn and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy and chicken is cooked through.

Step 7Serve with hot chips or salad.
Equipment
- 1 baking tray
Recipe Notes
Use an old baking tray, because this coating will stick and never come off! Alternatively, lightly spray some aluminium foil and put that on the tray first.
Use parsley powder but if you don't have it, ground dried parsley.
Tips to convert this recipe to cook in an air fryer
Prep as directed but reduce cooking time.
