Ingredients

  • 250 g malt biscuits
  • 390 g condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 90 g butter
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 200 g dark chocolate melts

Method

  • Step 1
Lightly grease a 27 cm slice container with cooking spray. Line bottom with approximately 15 whole biscuits. Crush the remaining biscuits.
  • Step 2
In a large saucepan place the left over crushed biscuits, condensed milk, butter, golden syrup and brown sugar.
  • Step 3
Mix together over medium heat, stirring until mixture begins to boil.
  • Step 4
Reduce heat to low, stirring all the time to unsure mixture doesn't stick to bottom of pan.
  • Step 5
After about 8-10 minutes the mixture will turn a rich brown colour and will begin to separate from the side of the saucepan.
  • Step 6
Pour caramel over the biscuit base.
  • Step 7
Melt chocolate and spread over caramel.
  • Step 8
    Refrigerate to set.
Recipe Notes

This slice is best kept in the fridge. It's very important to constantly stir the mixture whilst on the hot plate. Some of the biscuits for the base will need to be broken to fit the container shape, just don't crush them.
