Ingredients

  • 750g beef rump steak, cut into strips
  • 1 bunch broccoli
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cup cashews

Sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbs orange juice
  • 1 tbs oyster sauce
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs cornflour
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 cup water

Method

  • Step 1
    Cook steak in a large pan or wok.
  • Step 2
    When cooked, set meat aside on plate and stir-fry the chopped vegetables.
  • Step 3
    While vegetables are cooking, combine sauce ingredients in a jug or bowl, and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Add sauce to vegetables, then add meat, and stir together until sauce thickens.
  • Step 5
    Stir in cashews.
  • Step 6
    Serve with steamed rice or noodles.

Recipe Notes

The garlic can also be added as part of the vegetables as a freshly chopped clove, but I've just always used roughly a teaspoon of crushed garlic in the sauce. Seems to work either way! Slice rump steak into thin strips.
