Ingredients

  • 225 g plain flour
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 g sugar
  • 3 apple
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Method

  • Step 1
    Place flour, baking powder and sugar into a bowl. Roughly chop up butter and mix in well. Do not cream or rub in.

  • Step 2
    Peel and slice apples into mixture then stir in beaten egg and milk to make a stiff dough. It will be quite lumpy with the apples and butter.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a greased 20 cm round tin.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 180C for 30 minutes then sprinkle with sugar and return to oven for another 30 minutes.
Recipe Notes

Can be served as a cake or pudding with whipped cream if desired.
