A subtly-flavoured dish that is a winner with children
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg chicken drumsticks
- 60 g butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 teaspoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons grated or chopped ginger
- 1 chicken stock cube
- 1 cup water
- 3 teaspoons cornflour
- Salt and pepper
Method

Step 1Lightly brown drumsticks, place in baking dish.

Step 2Melt butter, pour over chicken. Bake uncovered at 180C for 30 minutes.

Step 3Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sauce boils and thickens. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute.

Step 4Pour sauce over chicken, return to oven. Bake uncovered a further 30-35 minutes or until chicken is tender and golden brown.

Step 5Serve with any remaining sauce poured over.
Recipe Notes
Nice with either rice or mash, and steamed vegetables of choice.
