These homemade pies are nice and delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic crushed
- 2 drops parisian essence
- 2 tbs beef stock (powder)
- 3 tbs tomato sauce
- 3 tbs barbecue sauce
- 2 pinches black pepper
- 2 pinches salt
- 3 tbs plain flour
- 500 g Swiss brown mushrooms quartered
- 2 cups beef stock (liquid)
- 2 cup frozen peas
- 800 g lean beef mince
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 5 sheets shortcrust pastry frozen thawed

Step 1Preheat oven to 180C. Heat oil in a large frying pan on medium. Cook garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add beef mince and cook until it starts to separate and brown .Add mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until soft. Add few drops of Parisian browning essence and beef stock powder and stir.

Step 2Dissolve the flour in little bit water and pour into mince. Keep stirring and cook until the mixture thickens slightly. Stir in tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, liquid stock, frozen peas and season with salt and pepper. Season to taste and leave to cool.

Step 3Using 12 cm cutter, cut four rounds from pastry,for bottom base pie. Cut 10.5 cm rounds from pastry for top.

Step 4Place the base of pastry on the bottom of pie mould and fill up with the mixture. Close the pie with the pasty lid and brush the top and sides of pastry with egg. Repeat with remaining pastry and mince mixture anti use all.

Step 5Place in oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 6Serve the pies with tomato sauce and hot chips if you prefer or just on it's own.

Recipe Notes
When they cold you can freeze them in plastic bag as well. If you like to add different vegetables it is absolutely up to you. The pies are always delicious.
Parisian essence is used to darken gravy, fruit cakes and for staining fabrics for various craft projects.
