Ingredients

  • 100g butter, chopped
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 135g (1 1/2 cups) traditional rolled oats
  • 105g (1 1/4 cups) desiccated coconut
  • 70g (⅓ cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • ½ x 170g tube sweetened condensed milk

Method

  • Step 1
    Stir butter, golden syrup and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until butter melts. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Place 1 ¼ cups oats, 1 cup coconut, sugar and sweetened condensed milk in a large bowl. Add butter mixture and and stir until well combined.
  • Step 3
    Combine remaining oats and remaining coconut in a shallow bowl. Roll tablespoons of mixture into balls and coat in oat mixture. Place on a tray and chill for 2 hours or until firm. Serve.
