A simple recipe, yet delicious.
Ingredients
Base
- 120 g butter
- 60 g brown sugar
- 180 g self-raising flour
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 pinch salt
Icing
- 60 g butter
- 60 g icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp golden syrup
Method

Step 1Base: Rub ingredients together until light brown.

Step 2Press into a shallow pan lined with baking paper.

Step 3Bake 20-30 minutes 170C (fan-forced oven) or 180C (regular oven).

Step 4Icing: Place all ingredients into saucepan and melt.

Step 5Spread onto slice base.

Step 6Cut while still warm into pieces of desired size.
Recipe Notes
This recipe can be frozen. If you like a really strong ginger flavour add more ground ginger if you like. Can be eaten warm or cold, nice with coffee or tea.
