Very easy.
Ingredients
- 500 g dried figs
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 lemon
Method

Step 1Thinly slice peel and juice the lemon. Place the figs, water and brandy in a large saucepan.

Step 2Bring to the boil. Reduce heat.

Step 3Simmer for approximately 30 minutes or until the fruit is tender.

Step 4Blend in sugar and lemon peel.

Step 5Simmer for a further two or three minutes.

Step 6Blend in juice.

Step 7Spoon the figs and liquid into sterilised jars.

Step 8Seal and store in a cool place.
Recipe Notes
The figs will keep well for up to 12 months. Prunes can be used.
