Whether you have spare Easter eggs to use up or just feel like baking, this is one of our best chocolate brownie recipes.
Ingredients
- 120g unsalted butter
- 200g dark cooking chocolate
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbs cocoa powder
- 50g speckled Easter eggs
- 50g dark cooking chocolate chips
- 50g chopped hazelnuts
Method

Step 1Preheat the oven to 160°C.

Step 2Grease a 20cm square pan and line with baking paper.

Step 3Place the butter and chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, ensuring the bowl does not have contact with any water. Continuously stirring melt the two together and set aside.

Step 4In a separate bowl mix the brown sugar, caster sugar, eggs and vanilla extract with a wooden spoon. Then add the melted chocolate mixture.

Step 5Add the remainder of the dry ingredients flour, baking powder and salt to the chocolate mixture and mix until just combined.

Step 6Lastly, add the chocolate chips, chopped hazelnuts and roughly chopped Easter eggs to the mix and stir through (leaving some chopped easter eggs aside for the topping).

Step 7Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.

Step 8Sprinkle the remaining the Easter eggs over the top of the cooked brownie and cut into desired squares.
