This is a fabulous recipe for those kids parties, sweet decorations and Christmas treats.
Ingredients
- 250 g salted butter softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 5 tbs vanilla essence
- 6 cups plain flour
- 3 eggs
Method
-
Step 1Beat together the sugar and butter until creamy.
-
Step 2Add vanilla essence.
-
Step 3Add eggs and mix until well combined.
-
Step 4Add the plain flour a cup at time, until well mixed. The dough will be soft and slightly sticky.
-
Step 5Divide it into two or three balls and cover with cling film, then place in the fridge for at least 1/2 hour.
-
Step 6Prepare your trays with baking paper. Turn your oven on to 160C. Remove chilled dough from the fridge.Place a piece of baking paper onto your bench and the dough. Sprinkle some plain flour on top of the dough and roll out. Don't make it too thin!
-
Step 7Cut out your shapes and bake for 12 minutes. If they are turning brown at the edges, take them out! Ice and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
You may wish to freeze some of the dough if you don't want to make a full batch of biscuits. These are a lovely little biscuit, and they last for up to two weeks in a good airtight container. Make sure they are cold before you ice them. I know it looks like a lot of Vanilla is added. If you don't like that much, you can omit some.
