A healthy, warming and super easy winter soup you can also make in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 500g gravy beef chopped
- 1/2 cup pearl barley washed
- 2 onions
- 3 potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 3 celery sticks
- 1/2 turnip
- 4 cups water
- 3 beef stock cubes
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 1/2 swede
Method

Step 1Chop all vegetables.

Step 2Put all ingredients in a saucepan and add enough water to just cover.

Step 3Simmer gently for a couple of hours until beef is tender.
Recipe Notes
If the soup is a bit watery add a handful of risoni pasta and continue to simmer until the pasta has cooked.
