A delicious, moist teacake for afternoon tea.
Ingredients
- 125g butter
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 425 g canned pie apple
- 1 tbs icing sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Method

Step 1Beat butter and caster sugar until creamy.

Step 2Beat in 2 eggs. Add 1 cup of flour, beat and then add the other cup of flour.

Step 3Gradually add the milk and beat.

Step 4Spread ½ of mixture into a lightly greased spring form cake tin. Spoon ½ of the apples over the cake mixture and spread remaining cake mixture over the top. Spoon remaining apples over the cake and bake at 180C for 50 minutes.

Step 5Remove cake from tin and sprinkle with the icing sugar and cinnamon.
Recipe Notes
Delicious served warm with a little cream, or cold with a cup of tea.
