Ingredients

  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 1/2 cup thickened cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tsp gelatine powder
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 figs fresh medium
  • 1/4 cup honey

Method

  • Step 1
    Grease six ½ cup capacity moulds.
  • Step 2
    Combine cloves, cream and milk in a saucepan and stand for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle gelatine and sugar over cream mixture, stir over low heat, without boiling, until gelatine and sugar dissolve.
  • Step 4
    Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Step 5
    Strain mixture into a medium jug and cool to room temperature.
  • Step 6
    Pour mixture evenly amongst moulds, cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours or until set.
  • Step 7
    Cut figs into quarters.
  • Step 8
    When ready to serve, place honey in small saucepan and stir until warm.
  • Step 9
    Turn panna cotta onto serving plates, serve with figs, drizzled with the warm honey.

  • 1 knife
  • 6 serving plate
Recipe Notes
Make the panna cotta in advance, at least the day before required is ideal. Lightly grease your moulds with an oil spray. If figs aren't in season make a mixed berries coulis to serve with the panna cotta, this is equally as delicious.
