A great Aussie dessert.
Ingredients
- 5 egg whites
- 1 1/4 cups caster sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 1/2 tsp white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tbs cornflour
- 1 pinch salt
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 120C.

Step 2Beat eggs whites until stiff.

Step 3Add caster sugar slowly and then salt.

Step 4Beat for a further 5 minutes until thick, stiff peaks form.

Step 5Beat in vanilla and vinegar, then fold in cornflour.

Step 6Spoon mixture onto a baking paper covered tray, shape into a 20 cm circle and pile high.

Step 7Bake for about 1-1½ hours and let cool in the oven with door ajar.

Step 8When cool cover top with whipped cream and toppings of choice.
Recipe Notes
Great topped with fresh fruit, or a crushed chocolate bar.
