Ingredients

  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup soft brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup milk choc bits
  • 1 cup choc bits

Method

  • Step 1
    Cream sugars and butter together.
  • Step 2
    Add vanilla and yolk, and beat well.
  • Step 3
    Stir in flour and chocolate bits with a metal spoon.
  • Step 4
    Roll into balls and place on baking tray.
  • Step 5
    Push approximately 5-6 extra chocolate bits into top of each biscuit.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 180C for 10-15 minutes or until lightly golden in colour.

  • 1 metal spoon
  • 1 baking tray
Recipe Notes
Use milk or dark chocolate bits and extra chocolate bits. These choc chip biscuits are the best I've ever made. They never last more than 2 days in my family. When measuring the soft brown sugar I add an extra tablespoon which gives the biscuit a nice dense rich flavour.
