Perfect for parties...and the best thing is that you can pre-make these and freeze them for a later date.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf multigrain bread
- 425 g canned asparagus
- 1/3 cup light sour cream
- 2 shallots finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cup cooked chicken finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese grated
- 3 tbs butter melted
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
Method

Step 1Remove crusts from bread and roll bread out thinly with a rolling pin.

Step 2In a bowl combine the asparagus, cream, shallots, chicken and cheese.

Step 3Place a small amount of the chicken mixture on a slice of the bread. Roll up tightly and secure with a toothpick. Repeat with remaining bread and mixture.

Step 4Combine the butter, paprika and garlic and brush over the rolls. Place rolls on baking paper lined trays.

Step 5Bake at 200C for 10-15 minutes or until golden.

Step 6Serve hot.

Recipe Notes
Use a good brand of asparagus cuts and tips, I prefer John West brand over any of the others.
