These are a hit with kids and are great in the lunch box. Make a double batch as they're guaranteed to disappear fast!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups Woolworths Tasty Cheese, grated
  • 3 bacon rashers chopped
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp French mustard
  • 310g canned corn *optional
  • 1/2 cup spring onions, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste

Method

  • Step 1
Combine cheese, bacon, onions, spring onions, corn, shallots and flour in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
Add the egg, milk and mustard and mix well.
  • Step 3
Drop rounded tablespoons of mixture on oven trays lined with baking paper. They will spread slightly.
  • Step 4
Bake at 180C for approximately 20 minutes.
Recipe Notes

I prefer them hot, covered with heaps of BBQ sauce, and they freeze fine, you just need to put them back in the oven to reheat.

Editor's note: This recipe has since been updated as our video features eschalots as per original recipe, however the correct ingredient should be spring onions.
