This easy to make slab cake is perfect for afternoon tea. It uses packet cake mix and creamy Caramilk, and will have everyone begging for seconds. - Lindy Lawler

Ingredients

  • 440g vanilla cake mix
  • 2 x 180g Cadbury Caramilk chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 60g butter
  • 500ml cream
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Method

  • Step 1
    Make cake according to instructions and bake in a 25cm x 25cm cake tin. Allow to cool to room temperature.

  • Step 2
    Melt 1 x 180g Caramilk block with coconut oil. Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Step 3
    Beat 450ml cream until thickened and add melted Caramilk chocolate. Combine.
  • Step 4
    Spread the cream and Caramilk chocolate mixture over the cake. Place in the fridge to cool for an hour.
  • Step 5
    Melt 3/4 of the remaining Caramilk with the remaining 50mls cream in a bain-marie until smooth. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
  • Step 6
    Pour cooled Caramilk over cream layer and spread with a knife.
  • Step 7
    Grate remaining Caramilk over the cake. Slice into squares and serve.
