With caramel flavours in the biscuit base, and a thick Caramilk topping, this Caramilk hedgehog slice is an easy no-bake sweet, perfect for lunchboxes and afternoon tea.
Ingredients
- 250g Milk Arrowroot biscuits
- 125g butter
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 1/2 cup condensed milk
- 270g Caramilk chocolate
Method

Step 1Line an 18cm x 25cm slice tin with baking paper. In a food processor, blitz 2/3 of the biscuits into a fine crumb. Transfer to a bowl. Break or chop remaining biscuits into small pieces and add to bowl with crumbs. Combine butter, golden syrup and condensed milk in a saucepan over gentle heat and stir until butter has melted. Add to biscuits and mix well. Press evenly into prepared tin, smoothing the top.

Step 2Melt Caramilk in the microwave in short bursts until smooth. Pour over biscuit base. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until chilled and set.

Makes 12 squares.
+ 2 hours refrigeration.
You can blitz the entire packet of biscuits but a hedgehog slice traditionally has some larger pieces in it for texture.
If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the biscuits in a zip lock bag and bash with a rolling pin.
This recipe uses 1 1/2 180g packets of Caramilk. 1 packet will suffice but your topping will be much thinner.
