An easy and tasty gravy with a fancy twist.
Ingredients
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 tbs oil
- 30 g butter
- 1 tbs brown sugar
- 1 tbs balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbs plain flour
- 1 tsp beef stock (powder)
- 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cup water
Method

Step 1Heat oil and butter in fry-pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes or until soft.

Step 2Stir in brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, cook a further 2-3 minutes.

Step 3Sprinkle flour and beef stock powder over mix and stir to combine. Cook for a minute.

Step 4Slowly blend in 1½ cups of water and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly.

Step 5Bring to a boil and continue to simmer until gravy thickens. Add more water until the desired consistency is achieved.
Recipe Notes
This is a lovely gravy to serve with sausages. My family also really enjoy it served over mashed potato.
