This has been a family hand-me-down for as long as I remember.
Ingredients
- 600 g beef chuck steak
Sauce
- 1 onion finely chopped large
- 3 garlic clove crushed
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground chilli
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbs white vinegar
- 1 tbs dry sherry
- 1 tbs oil
Method

Step 1Heat oil in saucepan, add onion and garlic, fry until onion is transparent.

Step 2Add all other ingredients, bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 3Serve over cooked, battered meat with rice.
Recipe Notes
I have been enjoying this for many years, thanks to my mum. Use any meat, cooked in batter. You can use chilli powder, or chilli sauce.
