Need to bring-a-plate? This easy apple and cinnamon slab cake is the perfect solution and will have everyone asking for the recipe.
Ingredients
- 100g butter
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 1/4 cups Woolworths Essentials Self-Raising Flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 400g canned pie apples, roughly chopped
Frosting
- 200g sour cream
- 1 cup icing sugar, sieved
- Cinnamon sugar, to decorate
Method

Step 1Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 27cm x 17cm brownie pan and line the sides with baking paper.

Step 2Beat butter, oil, eggs and sugar until thick and creamy. Sift in flour and cinnamon and mix until combined. Fold through apple.

Step 3Spoon into prepared cake tin and smooth top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out clean. Cool in the tin.

Step 4For frosting, beat sour cream and icing sugar in a bowl. Spread over cooled cake and sprinkle over cinnamon sugar.
